This soft, neutral space reimagines the traditional cinema room. Rather than opting for a dark, enclosed setting, we embraced a light and inviting atmosphere designed for everyday enjoyment. The aim was to make this a space used regularly—not just reserved for special occasions. The timber tones of the flooring and cabinetry were carefully matched for cohesion, while a bespoke laying pattern in the flooring adds subtle visual interest and depth.

Tucked into the cinema room, this coffee bar was designed for both functionality and flair. It includes a built-in fridge for chilled drinks, a coffee machine, integrated bin, and clever storage—perfect for everything from a morning espresso to an evening gin and tonic.
The cabinetry features a large bronze mirrored splashback by Rough Old Glass, intentionally placed to reflect the garden greenery and reinforce a bar-like atmosphere, steering it away from a kitchen feel. The client’s brief called for a sense of subtle luxury, with brass detailing and ambient lighting. To achieve this, we integrated two distinct lighting styles: LED strip lighting within the mesh-fronted cabinets and aged brass spotlights in the open bar section. The mix creates depth, mood, and a sense of craftsmanship that makes this bar truly one of a kind.

The generous sofa, sourced from Restoration Hardware, anchors the room with its relaxed yet refined presence. We layered it with a curated mix of cushions—some bespoke, others sourced from Laura Hammett Interiors and Andrew Martin—to add texture and understated luxury.
To make use of every corner, we added bespoke shelving behind the door, finished with brass detailing to echo the bar cabinetry. This subtle addition brings both function and personality to the space, enhancing the room’s overall sense of considered design.
