The article entitled ‘Split Level Living’ features a property called Seven Steps which we designed and developed for Nicole and Andy Sawer.
7 Steps
The owners of Seven Steps approached us in 2016 following a recommendation from their architect. The brief was to design room layouts and bespoke cabinetry for 2 master dressing rooms, master vanity and bar. After successful consultations, the brief expanded designs for the office, boot room, 2 bedrooms, vanities in all 4 bathrooms, secret doors, and study; a near full house internal furniture design and manufacture.
We were guided by our customer who leaned towards a more contemporary style influenced by Scandinavia designers. Through a collaborative approach, the result being designs consisting of high quality cabinetry enriched with different rich metals and textured woods. Our end goal was to create cabinetry that remained classical, timeless, practical, and truly bespoke to the customer.
The room that excited us the most was the bar. It forms the hub of entertainment and the centre piece of demonstrating our collective design ideas. We used a combination of stained oak, super white work surfaces, copper feature tiles and bronze antique mirrors. Subtle lighting illuminated the contrasts of finishing to a stunning effect.
Our relationship with the family remains strong with new projects potentially around the corner and series of recommendations that have converted into new clients.

Walking in to Brownlow’s showroom, it had a really friendly feel and that feel and atmosphere was obvious the whole way through the process. The creative and innovative design team were eager to please and had endless suggestions of new materials and manufacturing techniques to create interesting designs. The finished product is something that I am so happy with and the quality is representative of Brownlow as a company, friendly, creative and lovely to work with.
